PROTOTYPING
Define | Prototype | Test
Overnight I designed a few mockup pages for our calendar in the design style we wanted. I wasn't too sure what we needed for tomorrow, whether we had to come with a prototype or whether we were going to do it in class. Turns out we were making it in class so the homework I did set us ahead of the game, all we had to do was turn it into an app. We thought we'd get the most feedback if we were to show it as an app at the time rather than the various other formats we've been considering.
Our first testing session was alright, it wasn't amazing but she gave decent feedback. She mentioned that what we had was great it just needed some tiny tweaking, such as adding a home page to navigate to.
The second test however was so much more useful. Although it seemed like we were being kicked in the gut (our idea got compared to google plus in regards to the Facebook/Google+ war... talk about ouch) it was so much better than the previous feedback. We were able to see the flaws in our project and therefore are able to fix them and make a much better project. It also confirmed we need to do more interviewing since changing our idea yesterday.
I'm feeling so much better about our project than the start of the week. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy making something to encourage breaks but now we've shifted to another perspective it's so much better and making me enjoy class so much more!

Exchange! (Test Exchange)
Again not many of my group turned up but I was able to have a quick go at selling my idea and getting them to see through the gaps in Hayley and I's mind similar to the second test. Sometimes having people from different areas of Design gives them different views on things and can easily pick up on things you've missed.
